"'The Town That Was Murdered' is an homage to the book written by Red Ellen Wilkinson about north-eastern town Jarrow. Forgotten at best, actively dismantled at worst, Jarrow is a signifier of the treatment of Northern industrial towns. Pitch black in places but not without glimmers of hope, there is a violence and frustration that runs underneath the surface, a resentment at being ostracised."

The Town That Was Murdered was originally released as a cassette on the Herhalen label. This release presents a remixed and remastered version of the material.

"The atmosphere of this album is dark, violent and harrowing... as it should be. Howling swirling ambience, bursts of angry static, fierce rumbling drones, sorrowful synth melodies, glitchy electronics and violent industrial noise makes up the tense and frightening soundscapes. It is the sound of devastation, anger and injustice."
