"Modwump's debut album 'Animal Bitrate' has retro leanings, it is constructed to be experienced in two gulps (like in the good old days, for cassette and future vinyl incarnation). It gives rise to a new definition for the term "steampunk". It is a primitive, primal sound, of primary colours, outlandish feverish dance moves, scavenged from broken circuitry, discarded junk percussion and modular fractured otherness. It has a brutal absurdity, teetering on the insane, and - above all - it has the ability to amuse us. MODWUMP's first outing is pure unadulterated FUN."
